About Andrew
I grew up in The Netherlands as my parents (who are British) emigrated over there before I was born. Around the age of 10 I taught myself how to play the piano. I was lucky enough to be able to attend a high school which taught music lessons (just theory) and it gave me the added benefit of doing some performances. In 1998 I moved to Glasgow to study.
At university I studied several disciplines and graduated with a Master of Arts in Music. Mostly a theoretical course I did however manage to study a lot of orchestration and composition during this time from which I think my own music recordings have improved a lot. I have always been interested in layering backing tracks myself and playing every instrument I want to hear. In the past I always had great difficulty programming drum tracks as I often thought the end results were not convincing however I feel recent technologies have enabled me to also make this sound quite good.
During university I attended several open mic nights and did some acoustic performances with guitar. I was in a band for a short period of time as well.
In my music tracks you can hear me singing and playing the following instruments: piano, keyboards, guitars, bass and drum programming. All songs have been recorded using different versions of Cubase SX or Logic Studio. To find out more about how I create my music be sure to check out the Instruments / Equipment section of the website.
After my Master of Arts I studied for a further year to gain a Master of Science in Information Technology. I have worked in IT since.
Besides music my hobbies are films, photography, going to gigs and computer games.
